rsvp freakout!!!

Caylee, on June 9, 2019 at 8:42 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

This is probably not such a big deal as I feel it is but I cant figure out how to word my RSVP cards! I want people to be able to mark if they will be coming or not obviously, but I want to know how many people will be coming/names of the attendants! I have no room for everyone bringing an entourage assuming they could. I'm also having a buffet so I wont be leaving a food choice line, or should I say it will be a buffet so people know? I need people to leave food allergies/ dietary restrictions though because it will be pasta and I need to know how much of something gluten free or dairy free I will need! then I want to leave a line for song requests so people can hear their song, since me and my soon to be husband like rock/not really the right music for a wedding... help me pleaseee! I am a mess! How do I word all this properly while getting my point across?

You should be telling your guests who is invited, not them telling you. If you want Susie smith and John Smith to come to your wedding, but not their 4 kids, you address the invitation to Susie Smith and John Smith, not the Smith family. No one is going to bring “an entourage” unless you allow them. Format your RSVP card like the photo attached. Put a line indicating how many are invited with their party, then allow them to fill in the names and number of people attending or declining. You can also put a line at the bottom for dietary restrictions. You don’t need to indicate that you’re having a buffet, your guests will assume that since you’re not asking for their entree preference. As for song recommendations, I would probably include it on the back of the RSVP card, on it’s own card, or include it on your website. If you’re using large RSVP cards, you may be able to fit it on the front without it looking too crowded.

    Hi there Caylee!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

The above example from Caytlyn is great. By filling in the numbers, you can control how many people RSVP.

With the food options, you could simply add 2 boxes down the bottom with a line "Please indicate how many guests have the following dietary requirements", and have a box for GF and dairy free! They can pop a number in there!

The song request can be added down the bottom also!

Here are two good examples I found on Pinterest! Including the examples above, from the pp, you can pick and choose elements to include in your own!

Are you creating and printing the invitations and RSVP cards yourself? What will you use to make them?

Hey there Caylee! Have you decided how you will word your RSVP cards? Were these examples helpful?
