Hello all! I am in the process of ordering my invitations and I don't know if I should spend the extra money on RSVP cards. Do you think it's worth it? I'm just wondering if people will actually send them back or if I'd be wasting money getting them. I thought about having guests just email us to...

I'm just wondering if people will actually send them back or if I'd be wasting money getting them. I thought about having guests just email us to RSVP but I wasn't sure what would be easiest. What did or what are you guys doing for RSVPs ?

I got mine at Costco -invitations, detail card and RSVP - sold separate but for 25 they were about $50 total for 3 with envelopes, etc.. We have an older crowd and I felt by forcing the website, many wouldn’t respond.

I got my invitations from Ann's Bridal Bargains. The RSVP cards were included in the price. I got the invite, RSVP postcard, inner envelopes and outer envelopes. With tax and shipping for 100 invites I think it came to like $94. We also gave everyone the option of RSVPing using the card, texting me, emailing our wedding account, or on our website. We also have a FAQ page on our website that reiterates all the ways to RSVP and the question we still get asked most is if they have to RSVP...so that is included on the FAQ page and says if they choose not to RSVP that's fine but bring a chair and a sandwich...I am not the person who is going to be chasing after people to find out if they are coming.

I only did RSVP cards for some of the folks I know aren't super computer savvy (mostly grandparents and some older family friends). I think it was only about 8 or 9, and I ordered 10. I put a link to our wedding website for RSVPs and additional wedding details on the invitation.

I would say it depends on your guests... I think it might be a good idea to order some if you have older guests that would prefer to RSVP by mail. I personally send my response in immediately after receiving an invitation (or call/text the host). But some people would prefer to respond online. If you have a younger crowd, or people you know wouldn't mind going online to RSVP, you can certainly opt to do that. For me personally, we invited a lot of older people (aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.) who I knew would not want to go online or wouldn't really know how to (my in-laws do not have a computer and do not know how to use one, haha). I would just keep that in mind when sending out the invitations!

I think it's worth it, but I have a small guest list. It's fun getting them in the mail :-) Plus my dad is a mailman and I like to support USPS.

    Cristina,

You get a free wedding website through Wedding Wire! That's what we did, in lieu of asking for RSVP cards. That might be helpful for you keeping track of folks, plus you can ask for things like food allergies, etc IF you would like! That might be helpful if you're concerned about having to track down folks who haven't RSVP'd, especially with the way shipments and mail could be a bit delayed in the current times.

    Good luck to you!

That’s one of the questions I asked on my wedding wire is about allergies.
