rsvp Cards

Erika, on May 29, 2019 at 8:45 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
Lately we've been having a little drama with our families. On top of that I've had multiple family members ask if their new boyfriend/girlfriend can come with them to the wedding(the same people are asking more than once) as much as I want everyone to be happy we are already cutting it very close the our venue maximum so I've had to politely tell them someone they've been dating for 2 months can't tag along. My question is: Is it tacky to write everyones names on the RSVP cards? 1 so I can make sure I can read who it is and also just so everyone knows who is invited and no one takes it into their own hands?

I've seen some invites have "_____ seats have been reserved in your honor" to indicate more clearly who is and is not invited. It may be easier than trying to figure out names, but that way also you can address those kind of questions before they come up.

Omg yes thank you that would work! I just didn't want to be rude by saying who can and can't it's just the type of family we have would just make up their own rules and I don't have the space for that

Our RSVP cards said "___ out of ___ attending" and we filled out the second line, and addressed the invites to exactly who was invited!

    Hi there Erika!

I'm sorry you've been dealing with a lot.

As the previous posters mentioned, specifying the number on the RSVP is a great way of making sure people don't RSVP for more than was invited.

I personally like FutureMrsD approach of "___ out of ___ attending" and you and your FS can fill out the second line!

I hope this will make it easier for you to control those numbers!

How many guests will you be inviting to the wedding?

Yes thank you I think I like this the best too! Already talked to FH and he agrees. Were inviting around 175 which is our venues max so there really is no extra wiggle room!

Hi Erika! What did you end up adding to the RSVP cards? Did you use the above line?

Hi! I ended up putting ___ out of ___ attending and filling in the second line with how many I invited in that party! Invites go out this week so hopefully it works!
