RSVP cards with no name

Kathryn, on March 21, 2016 at 1:01 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 23

Have any of you gotten rsvp cards back with no name on them? How did you handle it? Should I wait till more come in to figure out who sent one without their name?

We labeled the back of each invite with a number that corresponded with their name. It's a good thing because we received a few without names. If you still have a lot of RSVPs you are waiting on, you might have to wait and just have a "process of elimination"

I'd wait until you get the majority of RSVPs back. Then call all the people who haven't responded and one of them will claim the un-named card. You'll likely have to make a few follow up calls anyway.

I would do what Taylor suggested. We plan to mark all of them on the back with a number as well.

I numbered mine (thank God). I'd wait and see.

I actually filled my out with the names to avoid this. But after the deadline reach out to those who "have not" responded.

I numbered the back of all of them that corresponded with a "group number" i wrote down for everyone. I've only had one come back without names, but I figured it out in a few seconds.

I would wait until all or most are in, then try to figure it out based on who hasn't responded yet. Don't be like my cousin. She posted the blank and illegible rsvp's on facebook and asked who sent them.

We can at least figure out where it came from but unfortunately it's the area most of our guest will be coming from

Now I hope more people use the online rsvp because it forces them to put in their names

We did the blacklight pen thing but only one person didn't fill out their name. So you should be okay once you start getting more in.

If you haven't thrown out the envelope the cancel stamp thing will tell you the zip code where it came from.

We had to send them early because the RNC is going to be going on right around the time of our wedding and hotels are already getting booked! We wanted to make sure our guests could plan travel.

Crazy how often this happens. When is your RSVP deadline? I would suggest waiting until the deadline to call and ask. You can use that as an excuse to harass people who haven't RSVP'd....we received an RSVP card with no name, was that yours?

I've received two of these so far - numbering came in handy.

Wait till the deadline and see who didn't respond....it will be easier to narrow it down then. I numbered the inside of the RSVP envelope and needed to reference it twice.

I put a line that literally said name_____ because this happened to so many of my friends. I don't care how informal it is, because I haven't had a blank one yet.
