RSVP cards - are they worth it?

Aronna, on March 8, 2013 at 9:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Seems that over the years many people have said that most don't bother sending back the RSVP cards. That they email or call the couple or the couple has to contact them to find out if they are coming.

who is getting RSVP cards and how many think they are worth it? I need to decide if they are worth the cost

We've received more RSVP cards back so far than phone calls or website RSVPs. You know your guests best. How do you think they would respond to RSVP cards?

They are for older people who may not be tech savvy or who are more comfortable with traditional ways. I think it's fine to have people respond by email, text, or phone, but make sure to include a card for the people who wouldn't feel comfortable with that. Smiley smile

We did all online RSVPs, because all of our guests were tech savvy or we put them in households with someone that was (my aunt RSVP'd for my grandmother, my parents for my grandfather.) I would suggest some for the older, more old fashioned folks and otherwise use an online/email/phone RSVP that anyone could use.

We offered phone, web, email and RSVP cards. We have gotten 60 RSVP cards and only 4 Web. Definitely worth it...people prefer them.

We didn't give any other option but to return the RSVP. We got most back surprisingly! It was also kind of exciting checking our mail everyday haha.

We are doing online RSVP. I printed up business size cards on card stock to put as an insert into the invite with info about how and where to RSVP, and I included on the card "Or let us know by mail." Then followed with our address.

I decided that it didn't seem worth the cost. Unless you gave them prestamped envelopes with it, it seems people are bad about sending them back. And I didn't want to pay for the extra envelopes, cards, or postage. I'm cheap like that I guess.

A lot of ours have yet to send them back and I'm already expecting certain people not to send them back. Even if I had done online RSVP's I think I would still do the RSVP cards for those that are less tech savvy.

When we RSVP we only had to call 7 ppl after the date expired.. So it wasn't that bad for us.. I still say they are worth mailing to ur guests.. My opinion..

I did online RSVP's and was quite surprised that many did not have a problem doing it this way. I also had included my phone number for those that really weren't interested in going online. My rsvp deadline is next week and surprisingly almost all responded already.
