RSVP Card with Menu Options

Mrs. Smith, on March 15, 2011 at 10:58 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

Ladies, I need your help with wording on the RSVP cards. The main option is filet with chicken and for kids there is chicken fingers with french fries. How do I let them know that there is also a vegetarian option. And how do they indicate the number coming? I am all confused. Do I list a line for each option and say please indicate the number? Or should I say vegetarian option available upon request? And if so, how do they indicate that on the card? Sorry there is so much here. Generally I don't have questions.

Where are you getting your RSVP cards from? I ordered mine off 123print.com, and there were sections where you could add text. so i created 2 lines one for fish and one for chicken. i dont know if that'll help you but they make it super easy to personalize your RSVP cards.

If you're planning on serving all adults the same thing, and all kids the same thing unless they're vegetarians I would just put "Please note any food allergies or restrictions on the back of this card" since you really aren't having options like chicken or steak.

    How about this:

Please indicate attendance and meal choice:

    Name_______________________

    _____ accept _____ decline

    Filet with Chicken/Vegetarian/Child plate

    Name_______________________

    _____ accept _____ decline

    Filet with Chicken/Vegetarian/Child plate

It is one of the proofs I sent you Jaemi, but not the one you ended up choosing. There are a few variations you can use. Just be as clear and organized as possible to reduce confusion.

Something like this. I think listing vegetarian along with the others is easier. Saying it is available upon request makes it seem like it is a bit of an inconvenience and requires them to contact you or write in something on their own.

Katie, thanks for the idea. It really isn't options of this or this. I like to have them note any special needs for us on the back of the card.

    You can also do:

    M ________________

    ___ accepts

    ___ declines

    ___ number of guests

Please indicate meal choices with guest initials (or guest names):

    _______ chicken

    _______ vegetarian

    _______ children's meal

I would be careful of adding vegetarian to one of the choices. At my venue, I will get surcharged if more than a few people order it. Those who are vegetarian will put they need a vegetarian meal.

    Names___________________________

    ___of____guests will attend

    __Sorry, unable to attend

*if you have special dietary needs please indicate below

People will write vegetarian or 2 kids meals on the bottom... or if there are not many with kids, you can just call them and ask if they forget to write that.

    Hi Kelly,

I love this proof you included! What would you recommend for households with more than two guests? If I did this for a household with 4 guests, for example, but then sent the same RSVP card to a household with only one guest invited, how do I indicate that they do not get a plus one?
