Hello Brides, I paid a deposit last year with Royal Bison Co. They canceled their services as a videographer and I still haven’t received my deposit back. Did anybody else book them and have they received their refund?!?

Same thing happened to us! We haven't received our refunds and they won't return our emails. This is so wrong and unprofessional. I hope they'll be able to keep their word and refund everyone as stated on their website. If anyone received any news/contact from the third party that's supposed to be taking over, please come back and let everyone here know!

So glad I found this discussion. I am on the same boat and will try to dispute the charge with my bank tomorrow. I paid in full! This is so upsetting.

Hey everyone! I was also misled by Brett. We booked him for our March 14th 2020 (pre-covid) wedding, paid for the most expensive package and hundreds of dollars in travel fees to get him from Utah to our wedding in Texas. We even splurged for the "Love Story Video" and drove all the way to Utah to test things out and make sure he was our perfect videographer.

Fast forward to a couple of days before our wedding, we get an email from his assistant that our videographer will now be Michael, not Brett. Umm, what?! I asked for more information about this new person, they would not give me anything beyond a phone number to reach him on the day of. So I do my research, turns out this guy is a semi-professional, NOT a skilled wedding videographer. However since it was so close to our wedding, we chose to just trust in the process and try to not stress out too much over it (especially with covid-19 on the horizon, we had bigger fish to fry).

The day of our wedding: a teenage boy wearing cargo shorts, flip flops, and a stained T-shirt walks up to me and rudely asks me where the bride is. I ask if he is lost, he says he is the new videographer, Cameron. ANOTHER videographer change, I was floored. Our photographer (thank goodness for her!) had to walk him through basic things, even just using the camera settings. We paid for 8 hours of coverage and ended up with about an hour of footage because he arrived two hours late, left two hours early, and pretty much wandered around the whole day. Half of the footage is just him learning how to use the camera and recording things like drinks being poured and bowties being tied. No drone footage, no audio on the videos, barely any focus on the bride or groom. Such a horrible experience.

After Brett's "professional" editing, we ended up with two BAD wedding videos and a mini clip. I asked him to redo one of them, and it ended up even worse than the original. Also, we were never refunded for the travel fee we had unnecessarily paid (you know, since Brett never left his house!)

After reading your experiences, I'm not surprised in the least that he is behaving this way. Brett ran his business to the ground all on his own, covid only sped up the process. I hope you all get your refunds and have the most perfect wedding days!

Anyone else think the lawyer he references as managing all communication, looks familiar? Is it Brett?

$60 to file small claims in Utah. He has to show up or he loses the case and they will garnish his wages.

I don’t trust any of this because you don’t need a lawyer to refund money. The lawyers are not on the Better Business Bureau so I’m skeptical.

Has anyone received any notice or communication from the third party? It's been more than 2 weeks... Trying to be optimistic and hoping we'll get some answers soon

No. I’m hoping it’s more than a notice that he is dissolving his business and not a ploy to further delay everything. Just want our money back. We don’t need that his business is dissolved...

I haven't heard anything either and the bank told me the transaction was too old to request the money back. My next thing was to reach out to the law firm Brett is working with before I get a lawyer involved.

Update: I called the law office of Green Legal Group and talked to Cami. They are representing him and she said to email them any documents you have along with your contact info. Josh is the attorney representing him, but send everything to both.

    Hello,

This also happened to me Smiley sad My wedding is scheduled for March 2021; he hasn't refunded the 930.00 that I paid up front. Has anyone received the dissolution letter from the lawyers that are representing them yet?

    Hello,

Has anyone received a refund from Royal Bison Co? I filed a claim to receive a refund, but received a letter stating that they would not be providing refunds due to there being no assets. I find this very frustrating and upsetting, especially with Brett Simper putting on the website and letter that they would try to make it right with everyone.

    Thank you,

    Courtney

Hello, I received the same letter and reached out to a lawyer. The lawyer explained that I could still sue for the return of my deposit. I will keep you updated on what the lawyer says and if the lawsuit works.
