I thought I wanted one because they're so pretty and unique! Then my FH showed me a ring he had fallen in love with for me that was white gold and it was still unique but in a more timeless way that made sense for our relationship. And then that was the only ring I wanted lol! I love seeing other people with rose gold though, and the majority of my Pandora bracelet is rose gold!
I really wanted one but my FSIL helped my FH pick my ring since she works at the jewlery store and she said it would date the ring. i have to say i agree and am now glad i have a timeless silver band BUT rose gold is still gorg.
Most of my jewelry is rose gold (including my engagement and wedding rings) so I'm biased, but I LOVE IT. White gold doesn't look right with my skin tone, and yellow gold (while I love it) just didn't jump out at me when I looked at engagement rings.
I think they are beautiful, but I agree that it is SUPER trendy right now and is likely to eventually go out of style sooner rather than later. White gold/platinum and even yellow gold have been around for ages and have stood the test of time.
That being said, if you are open to having the ring re-set into a new band in a few years time, then go for it. Personally I wanted my e-ring to be something classic and timeless because I never want to change or upgrade it for any reason.
I think it's pretty but it IS trendy and I've seen it done so much, I opted for something different. It's really personal preference though! If you'd be happy with it for years and decades to come, then it's perfect
Had no idea this was a trend. I liked the idea of a two toned ring because I love color. Even if it goes out of style, I like it and it's what FH brought with him when he surprised me in London. So I'll always love it! Plus it's different and I like thinking my ring isn't like a ton of other people's.
I looooooooooove rose gold and have loved it for several years, BUT FH and I were both afraid one day I'd start to not like it so we got a white gold ring instead.
I LOVE rose gold. My e-ring was custom-made in rose gold because it fits much better with my skin tone - yellow and white gold just don't look as nice on me. If you're thinking about rose gold, make sure it's actually rose gold (i.e. gold mixed with copper etc.), as opposed to just dipped in rose gold. I've worn my e-ring for 10 months now and the color is as beautiful as ever - no fading.. You might also want to consider getting the prongs for the diamonds (if that's what you're doing) in white gold, because the rose/ yellow can otherwise make the diamond look yellow.
I do agree it's trendy. Same with halos, and black diamonds (both of which I have, ha). But if it's what you want and you feel you will still love it when it isn't "in style" anymore, then go for it! I wanted black diamonds in my ering but the jeweler convinced FH to forego them because if i were to ever change my mind I would have to get a new ring. So I got black diamonds (with black rhodium plating *heart eyes*) in my wedding bands.
