Room Block Comp Rooms - Hanpton Inn

Sarah, on July 7, 2015 at 3:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi all! I am looking at booking a complimentary room block (probably about 30 rooms) at the Hampton Inn near my venue. I have not heard back yet if they give a complimentary night based on X# booked rooms, but does anyone know if Hampton Inns typically do this? There are no fees to me if my block doesn't fill.

If you know about comp rooms at Holiday Inn Expresses or Hyatt Places, I'd be interested as well.

We have a room block at the Hampton Inn at the San Antonio Riverwalk. We did not receive a complementary room, but did not ask either (we are staying at another hotel where we have a second room block). However, our wedding falls on a very busy weekend and they gave us a great rate, free parking and breakfast for our guests. Their package was the most competitive one that we received.

Do you mean complimentary as in, it will be free for your guests? Or that it doesn't cost you anything to block rooms but guests will pay for their own? Or just that you're looking for a hotel that gives the bride & groom a free night if a certain # of rooms are booked? I don't have experience with those particular hotel chains, but the way mine (a Courtyard Marriott) did it was, the block starts with 10 rooms at a discounted rate. If those fill, they can add more as necessary, and if 10 rooms are booked for the wedding night, we'll get the honeymoon suite for free. It didn't cost anything to make those arrangements.

If you don't a free room, you may get a discount/perk at least. We used a Holiday Inn, and didn't get a free room, but we got an upgraded room at the regular room price in our block.

We received one complementary room the night of our wedding if we booked a certain number of rooms. It was like 10 or 15 nights, can't remember off the top of my head!

They were hard to nail down. There's usually one person in charge, so I'd call and ask for their direct number.

Hampton's also night because they let you manage a webpage, so you can see who booked a hotel.

I recently booked rooms at the Hyatt place and they will comp a room for every 10 paid room nights.

We have the Hampton Inn Libertyville, IL--- we have a buy out of the hotel for the wedding and we aren't getting a free night. Just comp hot breakfast and shuttles to and from the venue.

We have booked the Hampton Inn-Airport in Greensboro, NC. They are giving us a comp room (regular hotel room or meeting room) for every night 10 paid rooms are booked.

They graciously added the meeting room - that way we can use it as a comp if we need to get ready there or host our rehearsal dinner there.
