Rome Hotel Help

Lee, on October 16, 2019 at 7:37 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

Hi!

We booked a 7 night Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon next August. We are flying in/out of Rome with a day to spare on either end of our room (to avoid any risk of delayed flights causing us to miss the cruise)! We are excited to sight-see and get our vacation off to a nice, relaxing start/ finish.

Any recommendations for hotels on to stay at for 1 night (on either end of our cruise)? We both enjoy history, so we want to see the major landmarks- we also love to drink, so an area with some night life would be welcomed!

Both times I’ve been to Rome (yes, even one trip was one night like you Smiley smile) I’ve stayed in Airbnb’s in or near the Campo Marzio area, which is near the Spanish Steps, shopping areas and Piazza del Popolo. There a loads of good restaurants and bars near the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and over in Trastevere (though Trastevere is the furthest from the other sights). With two days, Campo Marzio area may be your best bet since it’s somewhat in between the colosseum and Vatican, and there are plenty of food and drink options nearby. Enjoy!!

    Hey Lee!

Rachel gave some great advice for locations to stay in Rome. I would have offered the same information.

Rome is one of my favorite cities and you will have a wonderful time!

Where will you be visiting on your cruise?

We did 4 nights in Rome during our honeymoon, and stayed by the Campo de Fiori...actually in the "Boutique Hotel Campo de Fiori". Walking distance to the Pantheon, Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, also Trastavere for food, and there's a bunch of bars/restaurants right on the square itself.
