Robes or Button Up Pajama Set?

Aly, on June 16, 2021 at 1:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I am including either a robe or Pajama Set in my bridesmaid gifts! I will be putting their name on them rather than typical 'Bridesmaid' customization. In your opinion and experience, which is better to go with? A custom robe or custom pajama shorts set? I definitely want to get them because I think it would be easier for getting ready the day of, but also a cute photo op. Let me know! If you have any shop recommendations I would appreciate it too!

I always vote for a pajama set! Robes aren't for everyone, and often times are annoying because they don't stay tied up.

I was gifted a silk robe in a wedding I was in and I don't use it for that exact reason. I'm gifting my ladies button up pj sets! I like how you aren't putting anything wedding related on them, very smart move!

I'd prefer pajamas, I never use a robe.

Pajamas and real pajamas, not a sleep shirt.

Are you expecting them to wear these for your wedding morning? Not everyone is probably comfortable with that, so just something to think about.

In general, I would much prefer an oversized sleep shirt. However, for a wedding day, you will be getting your hair and make up done, so a button or zip option is pretty important.

Pajamas are used more often then robes. Skipping the personalization makes it even more wearable again, since having my name on an article of clothing would feel a little juvenile.

I would prefer a button up pj set which is required for hair/makeup. However I would likely not wear it again if it has any personalization (names/titles) so that would be a waste of money on your end.

    This, precisely.

Also, remember that anything you're expecting them to wear that day is not generally considered a gift

Definitely the pajama sets! Much more versatile and more likely to be re-worn after the wedding

Exactly. That includes everything from proposal boxes to jewelry/hair/makeup/dress, etc

I think PJs would likely be more re-usable, but the robes would be more useful on the day because they can wear whatever underneath, and just fling the robe over the top.

I like personalized things, so I think having their name on them is cute - much better than bridesmaid or title, as I'm not a bridesmaid or matron of honour or whatever after the day, but I continue to be whatever my name is, if that makes sense!
