Rings without a Ring Bearer

Meesh, on September 24, 2018 at 5:54 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 23

So We aren't having a flower girl or a ring bearer... I assume we give both rings to our best man? Or do I give his ring to my maid of honor and the best man just holds my ring? I am not sure how that works! (LOL) Also, if you're not using a ring bearer, are you using special boxes to carry the rings in?

Even people that have a ring bearer don’t usually have them actually carry the rings. I’ve always seen the best man hold both rings because they usually have pockets in their pants!

I assume the BM would carry both rings. I think the jewelry store box would be adequate.

    Hi there,

We're having an adult only wedding, which means we also won't be having any flower girl or ring bearer. My MOH will be wearing my groom's ring on her thumb and his Best Woman will be wearing my ring on her pinky. When the time comes, our officiant will ask them each for the rings and then he will hand us each other's ring to do the whole exchange.

We didn't want them to have to fumble with any ring boxes, especially since my MOH will already be holding her bouquet as well as mine during the ceremony, I'd hate for her to have to try and hold a ring box on top of that.

Thanks ladies! Wasn't sure if there was anything special I needed to do. I guess you're right-I wouldn't give a toddler our expensive rings to carry anyway!! LOL

I was just in a wedding and I wore the grooms ring on my thumb. Honestly it was kind of nerve wracking to be fixing her train, holding both bouquets, holding down her fly away veil and trying not to lose the big ring off my thumb. I’d say give both to the best man since he has pockets

We got a special box on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074W6LH3Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -- We covered the burlap inside with swatches, so it is now our wedding colors), and we are having best man hold both rings in the box. (Moh has to hold my bouquet, so we figured it would be easier)

Hi Meesh, we don't have an ring bearer. We are using a ring box and giving our rings to the best man. I actually have 2 bands. And I'm giving my extra ring to my MOH to give to me after the ceremony.

That is exactly what I was thinking its too much for the MOH-- I have seen them tied to the bouquet, so that it is secred, but again its just another thing to worry about. We are giving him our custom box, so they are together.

Oooh I love this! I am just worried it will take too long to get here since we're only a little over two weeks away and see it's not Prime, but that is super cute! I will just have our BM hold them both since he will have pockets and my MOH will have to hold my bouquet. Thanks everyone! Smiley smile

We are giving ours to our officiant (who is FH’s cousin, so we know and trust him!)

We had our rings in a box and gave it to the best man. The ring bearer had a ring pop walking down the aisle.

We didn't give our ringbearer the rings. I juts didn't trust a 5 year old with them as much as I love him lol. Our jeweler gave us a special little pouch for the rings, we put both inside it and gave that to the best man who held it in his pocket, and then when the officiant asked for the rings he handed them both to my H who slipped me his discreetly and I held it in my opposite hand while he put mine on me. Easy Peasy

We are either gonna give both to the best man or one to the best man and one to the MOH (whose dress has pockets!). Our officiant asked for no boxes as it increases fumbling.

For my sisters wedding (even though she had ring bearers) I held the ring in my pocket. A lot of bridesmaid dresses have pockets now, or just slip it around the MOH thumb.

Special boxes aren’t necessary. Just give the rings to the best man. If you want it in something, just use one of the boxes the rings came in.

This is a great discussion. I am having an Adults only Wedding as well and I was unsure how to make this work myself. Thanks ladies! I will be getting a box as well.
