Ring sent for resizing

I dropped my ring off for resizing today--unfortunately with the cold weather and my weight loss, it is a full size, almost a size and a half, too big. Now, even more unfortunately, I won't be getting it back until after I get back from a work trip, so my hand feels "naked" until March. Did anyone...

Now, even more unfortunately, I won't be getting it back until after I get back from a work trip, so my hand feels "naked" until March. Did anyone have their ring resized? I'm a teensy bit sad I won't have it for the only Valentines day we have as an engaged couple.

Twice! First time was before FH proposed. But it was too big so I had to resize it once I had it, then had to send it out again to be re-shanked because it was way too thin. So I feel you! It sucks not having it on!

It only took a couple days when I had it resized. The kind jeweler advised us to bring it back for resizing on a Monday so they wouldn't have to hold it over a weekend (we took it in initially on the Thursday FH proposed), knowing it would be a fast turn around time for all weekdays and that I obviously wanted to keep it that first weekend.

I don't have my e-ring right now because we're having the wax mold made to make a custom wedding band. I haven't had it for a little over two weeks and I'm wearing my birthstone ring that my parents gave me when I was 12 (it's a little tight) as a placeholder.

Laura, I'm going to have to get my ring re-shanked too. I just didn't want to spend $400 all at once on repairs! It's like a car repair!

Yep - mine was resized from a 6 to 5.75. It was gone for only two weeks but I kept thinking I had left it somewhere.

Mine had to be resized from 7 to 5.5, took one week. I waited and just wore plastic ring guard thing to keep it from falling off for a few weeks, because I wanted to show it off to family at Xmas and didn't want to let it go. Luckily my FH had another less fancy family ring that I could wear while mine was in the shop so my finger wouldn't feel naked. The other ring was slightly too small so it took me like 15 minutes to get it off, even using all the tricks I could find on the internet -- I was terrified I'd have to get it cut off or something!
