Ring Bearer: Don't want a pillow

Anne, on April 27, 2017 at 4:23 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

I don't want a pillow for the ring bearer, which is FH's 9 year old son. I like the look of ring boxes. Does he just hold one box with two slots or one? I don't like rings tied with string. I want them to be more accessible than the time it takes to untie them. Does anyone on my side girl wise hold FH's ring ?

We have our rings insured so we are going to let him have the real things (plus they aren't that valuable)

Is there anything else the ring bearer does? I'm at a loss but trying to finalize our ring box decision.

What is everyone going for their ring box/pillow/etc?

Ours carried this wood ring box (except it was a different finish and we had it personalized with our date instead of the heart) that we got off Etsy. I believe my MOH did have the rings in the box during pictures prior to the ceremony, but we decided not to let our RB hold the rings during the ceremony. My MOH held onto DH's ring and the BM held onto my ring. The box twists open and doesn't open like a normal lid, so our RB wasn't actually able to open the box to see that she had an empty box before or during the ceremony, even though she was able to get the latch unhooked.

Also, the reason we didn't give our RB the rings in the end was because she was 4 and she'd had some moments that day. Your 9 year old should be fine!

To answer your other question the RB's job is to carry both rings (or appear to carry both rings), not just the groom's ring.

We'll be using a personalized wooden ring box also. The actual rings will be held by my MOH's husband until just before their son walks down the beach aisle with it....or I might have the officiant hold onto them. I just imagined our ring bearer tripping in the sand and losing the rings lol. Yes, we'll give them to the officiant.

Insured or not, I'm not handing our real rings to a 7-year-old. My Aunt made this for me.

He'll walk down the aisle, hand the pillow to the best man, then sit his little butt down.

We're gonna use a hollowed out book. I love the box @Anne posted too though

Thank you all. I went ahead and ordered the box. Time is running out for me to get things personalized.

All weddings I've been to (about a dozen) the ring bearer didn't actually carry the rings the bm did- it was just for show

    Edit- grammar

I have two ring bearers, so I ordered two boxes from Etsy and added a cushion.

This is ours. Our ring bearer is my FH's 9yr old cousin. Our rings will be in it and handed to him just before walking down the aisle.
