Reusing Bridesmaids Bouquets?

Courtney, on September 21, 2017 at 2:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 35

I was wondering if anyone used their bridesmaids bouquets as part of the reception decor after?

I have 6 bridesmaids and I was thinking of getting my planner to quickly swipe away the bouquets from the girls after photos to place them in various spots of our reception ie. at the ends of the bar etc.

The flowers will be need to be kept in water anyway should the girls want to keep them so I thought rather than have such beautiful flowers hidden indoors or laid on tables drying out I could place them in water jars and use them as addition decor. This way the girls can still pick them up at the end of the night and still keep them should they wish.

Thoughts?

Personally, I think it's a good idea... As a bridesmaid, I HATED carrying that thing around after the ceremony.

I'm doing that - my bridesmaids bouquets are going to be displayed on their table in pretty vases.

My BM bouquets are going to be used as the flower arrangements for the head table.

I thought about it too. I'm not but I think it's a great, thrifty idea to add to your tables.

I have vases for my BM to put their bouquets in. It'll be the centerpieces for their table.

I did this and so have a few of my friends! My friend Jess reused our bridesmaid bouquets as cocktail table centerpieces, and I re-purposed mine for some of our reception centerpieces!

Definitely think that works if its what you want to do! My friend did it when I was MOH in her ceremony. Flowers are expensive so why not multi-use

Mine were placed in vases on their tables and they took them home as well as the vases after.

They usually go on the head table and the BP takes them home.

Thanks everyone! Definitely feel a lot better about this now! Most of my tables have garlands however I am super excited to use them on guest book tables, the bar and cake tables etc.

Yay for saving flowers and money!

We did. 3 of my bridesmaids bouquets were repurposed for centerpieces at the suggestion of the florist to save money. No one noticed the difference in centerpieces and the bridesmaids still got to take them home at the end.

We did. We buy them around the guestbook and gift tables so that I at least felt like they got a little more use than just the ceremony.

It's done all the time. Typically if a bride has a tight budget and can't afford a custom sweetheart table piece, she can line the edge of the table with her BMs bouquets on either side of her own bouquet. Feel free to use them anywhere you want to. The more use you get out of a live product, the better.

Our florist suggested this and its a great idea. I'm too busy to get additional vases though, but it is a great idea!
