Restaurant reception

Alexandra, on August 10, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Hi everyone!
We are planning an intimate wedding ceremony with a restaurant reception to follow. We are planning to reserve a private space. Any advice from those who are currently or have planned a restaurant reception? Did you have dancing? If no dancing any recommendations on how to make the reception fun? Thanks!!

We aren’t allowed to have dancing at our reception (we got approval to do a first dance still!) due to health department restrictions. We are mainly just doing a meal, but I’m thinking about doing the shoe game for entertainment too. Between breakfast, cake cutting, first dance, and the shoe game I think that will probably take up most of the time we have the space for.

My first wedding we did a restaurant reception but we didn't do dancing or any of the traditional things.

We are doing a restaurant reception. Our original plan (which is likely not happening due to covid) was going to have dinner inside and tent the outside adjoining patio area for the bar, dancing & cocktail hour. Our plan now is at the same venue, but more along the lines of a brunch style wedding (sitting either indoors or out, depending on whether) but no band/dancing due to having something small & more intimate.

We are doing a ceremony and private dining dinner with a party of under 10 people.
We were planning to do wedding games instead of dancing (with our original big celebration) because we don’t dance.

We’re planning a small ceremony with 20-25 people, and then dinner at a restaurant after. We rented either the back patio or their large tent so people can spread our (we can decide closer to the date which we’ll use). We’re not planning to do any “traditional” wedding stuff during the dinner honestly. We’re treating it super casually. Games would be fun though!
