Resin/Garden style wood chair for reception?

Future Mrs M, on October 25, 2017 at 4:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

Has anyone used these or been to a wedding that has? Were they comfortable? The banquet chairs in the venue are hideous and I am not a fan of chair covers with the sashes, personally. The rental fee for these are pretty good - 1.75/each & they are padded.

Thoughts?

I had those at my wedding. I thought they were fine - did not notice them being uncomfortable.

I usually see those used for the ceremony, not the reception. For the reception portion chivari chairs are more common by me.

Our reception had the option of paying to rent these chairs or else stick with what they have (not the most pretty looking but they work). I felt like these white chairs aren't quite as stable as a typical banquet chair and not as comfortable either.

Nobody is going to notice how your chairs look either. They will just remember if they had a comfortable seat for the night.

There are lots of pics online where those chairs were used for the reception.

I have used these chairs for a few events. I like the look of them, especially for an outdoor venue. I've never had someone tell me they were uncomfortable in these chairs (and they're certainly more comfortable than chiavari chairs)

I think these are fine for outdoors but can't imagine them indoors. What does your venue look like? What kind of decor and overall vibe are you going for?

@Nicole I agree. That's why they aren't even an option. And they cost 4x the others.

@Spaghetti here is a view of the venue.. is not decorated. Colors are burgundy navy gold with hints of white and plush pink. The table cloths will be white with a color overlay. We anticipated the chair covers being white already, so the color is perfect.

Those style of chairs come with my venue and I'm using them. They look and function fine indoors. I'm not renting fancier chivari chairs. They are prettier but Guests won't notice or care.

I think they are beautiful. I just have never seen them used except for outdoor ceremonies and was worried about comfort. I'm thrilled with the price we have.

We used those for ceremony and reception seating and they were completely fine. Looked great (we used the light brown) and were comfortable.

Maybe brown would be a better indoor color?

Kaye We don't have any brown in our color scheme. The white is to help brighten the room a bit too.

I was going to rent these for my ceremony (glad to hear they're comfy). But I think they'd work fine indoors. Especially if you're looking to brighten it up I think white chairs are an easy solution

Then white! The only reason I was thinking brown was it looked more "furniturey". Yeah. That's not a real word...
