Rescheduling vendors due to covid

Adwoa, on April 21, 2020 at 8:21 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
I’m wondering how many of you were able to keep all your existing vendors when rescheduling your wedding? If not, which vendors are you trying the hardest to keep or wanting to work your new date around in order to keep them? Are you entertaining vendors you considered in the past that you didn’t go with? Or looking in a completely different direction?

I was super lucky and all my vendors were available. This only happened because we picked a Sunday as out new date. What I did was make a priority list mine looked like this:

    Venue/Caterer

    Wedding Planner

    Officiant

    DJ

    Make-Up

    Hair

    Photographer

Flowers, Lights, Decor (these I really didn't care about)

The top 4 were my most important to me. I made sure my new date worked with all of them first and then contacted the others.

I kept all of mine, but I did postpone a year. Most were not booked then and were willing to work with me and just kept the deposits. There was not a change fee.

I have gotten extremely lucky – so far all of my vendors except my venue and cake lady have responded to me with nothing but kindness and support ❤️ I am still waiting on those two final vendors, but I am quite sure both of them are closed at the moment- a hotel and a bakery. So hopefully they will get back to me whenever they reopen & will be as amazing as the other vendors have been! Especially the venue!! I can always find another bakery, but I definitely need my venue! The company that created our invitations is willing to reprint them for free with the new date on them, but I am being held up by the lack of response from the venue. Before we print them, we need to make 100% sure the wedding will still be at the same location 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The most important for me were the venue/catering and photographer, followed by the videographer (partially because it was a larger deposit). We were unable to find a date that worked with them and our officiant, but we are having a small ceremony on our original date so will not need them to officiate for our postponed wedding. I still have to contact our florist and wedding cake vendor, but I don't think they will have an issue with us moving our date.
