My rsvps are due soon and I’m kind of nervous because I have sent out a message about a week ago reminding everyone that they are due soon. Some I have heard from, others opened and ignored, and some said no. They day they are due I was thinking of sending a message again just telling them to please...

My recommendation is to follow up with those who haven't responded immediately following your RSVP deadline. I personally wouldn't hound them before the deadline because I think it comes off the wrong way.

I'm a responsible adult and I understand what deadlines are. If I haven't RSVPed yet to someone's wedding, its because I haven't yet decided whether or not I'm going. That couple pointing out that I haven't yet RSVP'd isn't going to make give them an answer any sooner. It just feels like they are treating me like a child and not respecting me. Guests have up until the deadline to make a decision - they are under no obligation to inform you of their plans any sooner.

If you need more wiggle room to follow up with guests its your job to build that into the schedule. If your venue headcount is due 3 weeks before your wedding, then your RSVP deadline should be 4 weeks before to give you ample time to follow up with guests who have not yet responded.

With the pandemic, many people are waiting until the last minute to make decisions about travel and attending gatherings, so I wouldn't be surprised if many RSVP on the day of your deadline.

Could be. I sent invites out on July 18th and my in laws didn't get their invite until July 31st. They live right down the street from us.

Im kind of harsh about this but i would say it very professionally something like “the rsvp date has passed and due to the nature of the current situation, we need to assume anyone who has no rsvped will not be attending. if you are planning to attend I absolutely must know by (date)”

i had a lot of people not rsvp had to hunt them down. then one rsvp came a week late i had to tell her the spot was given away.
