Replacement for Sparklers in Reception Exit

Steffanie, on May 11, 2021 at 5:25 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 10

Hi everyone,

I really wanted to have sparklers for our grand exit from our reception, however our dream venue that we've already booked doesn't allow flames of any kind. So sparklers are out.

We will be exiting late at night and I'm not a big fan of glow sticks. What other alternatives have you used or recommend and look great in photos?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen these recently, they are like confetti poppers, but the streamers stay attached to the popper so people can keep waving them and its 100% mess freeReplacement for Sparklers in Reception Exit 1

I've seen people do pom poms.
Our what about fiber optic glow sticks? They're a little more on the dainty side.

You could do glow balloons since it’s after dark

I think it looks super pretty at night, especially with reflections from the lights! I wanted to do it but my fiancé said no it’s cheesy lol

I'm going to be that person: please don't release balloons.

From US Fish and Wildlife Service: https://www.fws.gov/news/blog/index.cfm/2015/8/5/balloons-and-wildlife-please-dont-release-your-balloons

If you want everyone to just hold the balloons for a photo, that would probably be fine (although I still wouldn't due to the possibility someone will let go), but please don't intentionally release balloons. Not even "biodegradable" balloons. They kill countless animals for no good reason.

Good nighttime alternatives include bubbles (which catch any surrounding light), lightsabers (yeah, like the Star Wars toy - they actually look very cool in photos, running under a row of them), branches wrapped with those small fairy lights, or LED ribbon wands.
