Relaxing or Adventurous Honeymoon?

I am planning to do exactly what you are doing on some tropical island somewhere. We are doing 6 days though, so two days of beach relaxing would be perfect for us!

We plan on drinking! Normally when we go on vacation its non-stop and action packed...very little time left for the beach.

FH likes to go places where we can experience more local culture and he has recently swayed me in that direction, where I used to be an All Inclusive Resort kinda girl. But we decided on a cruise this time

We are going on a national park road trip through Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona. So it's definitely going to be an adventurous honeymoon with lots of hiking, camping and sightseeing.

We just got back from a cruise over New Year's to the Caribbean. We had 1 beach day during the cruise and FH was bored to tears. The rest of the time we snorkeled, climbed Mayan temples and did sightseeing. We just aren't lay on the beach kind of people. We like exploring and doing.

We did some combination, I guess--we stayed at a cabin in the mountains, but we did a lot of hiking around and exploring. So it was relaxing in that we didn't see anyone we knew and set our own schedule, but we definitely did get out and do things.

DH and I went on a 7 day cruise for our honeymoon. It was supposed to go to st marten, st Thomas and Bahamas but we were rerouted to Jamaica and mexico instead due to a storm abrewing in the ocean. We had an amazing time ziplining in Jamaica and exploring secret caverns in mexico. We also had a ton of time to just relax on the ship and eat and eat, oh and eat some more haha!!

We will definitely not just be laying on a beach! We are visiting Copenhagen, Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik, and Paris. Even though the cities in Croatia have beaches, we will probably not just lay around- we are looking into chartering a boat for a day or taking a sea kayaking tour. It definitely won't be the most relaxing honeymoon, but I have never been to Europe so I wanted to take the opportunity to travel- we can lay around anytime!

Combination. We are having a really hard time choosing the adventures. I want to do it all. But I think we'll want to just relax for a day or two.

Initially we really wanted to honeymoon in Costa Rica. But we going for sensible and money-saving and staying in the US. I recently put FH in charge of planning the honeymoon.

We're doing a combination actually. Going to Jamaica for 10 days, so we'll be doing some relaxing and drinking but also some of the excursions that they offer like zip lining, horseback riding, etc.

We're doing a more laid back honeymoon because we don't have a whole lot of money to spend. We're going to my family's cabin in Northern Michigan on a lake. So it'll be relaxing--just me, FH, and our dogs. But we'll also have a boat and jet skis, so I can't see us sitting still for too long.

We want a combination of both, that's why we chose Hawaii. We'll get to be beach bums one day and hike up to a volcano the next!

For anyone planning on going on a cruise I highly suggest Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas. FH and I went in September and that is when he proposed! It was the best cruise I had ever been on aside from the proposal which of course was my favorite part! lol We stopped in the Bahamas, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas... 7 day cruise. Each spot was great.. if anyone wants more info on what to do there let me know. The ship is so incredibly big we didn't even get to see everything! There is time to do something all the time and there is time to do absolutely nothing at all! It's the perfect combination! My vote is a honeymoon cruise!

Both. Thailand and Rio are our top choices.

We want a relaxing HM with good food and lots of alcohol....So I think we're going with an all-inclusive adults only resort and adding 1 or 2 excursions....We originally wanted Puerto Rico but we really want the all-inclusive and PR doesn't offer that.

We're planning on doing a combination of the 2. I love relaxing on the beach earlier in the day but I get bored in the afternoon so at that time we'll do some excursions. We plan on going to St. Maarten.

@Samantha was there a lot to do in St. Maarten?

I want to lay out in sunshine with access to unlimited food and booze haha

I think we are definitely going the more adventurous route, FH isn't big on sitting still. I am going to try and convince him to relax sometimes (we will be gone for almost 3 weeks). But I am not confident that it will work.

I want to do like a 6 day vaca. Do half relaxing and half adventurous.

Adventure! We are doing 7 days in South Island New Zealand and then 2 nights in Fiji--just so we get some relaxing on the way home.

@8815, Dubrovnik is GORGEOUS. The snorkeling is incredible there.

We're completely torn! It's either relaxing at a resort in Belize or, like Erin, a road trip around Ireland. We debate it all the time and still can't decide.
