Rehearsal dinner on-line invites, good idea or NO way!?

paula, on April 14, 2010 at 2:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

Our budget is max out and 90% of the guests attending to the Rehearsal dinner live out of town, so we figured we could save some money by sending on line invites. Is that cool?

If so, where can I find nice on-line invites?

Thanks!!!!

I think the online invite is fine (as long as you attendees are internet users).

Evite would work great, in my opinion (www.evite.com). Then you can post updates and driving directions and follow RSVPs. And, you can format it to fit your theme/colors.

I used Evite for the 15 people attending my rehearsal and dinner. I even sent the evite to the officiant.

Great question! I was wondering about that, too. Everyone is invited to the rehearsal dinner since it will be a BBQ at my moms and all my guests are from out of town. I've been trying to figure out how to invite people without mailing out additional invites... It's like $40 to mail my entire list :-( But I'm not sure how many of them are tech savvy...

We are also having a BBQ open to anyone who is already in town. We are including an "info" sheet in the invite envelope with map, times, and rehearsal info.

I think it's a great idea! Why spend money on another set of invites?

We are planning on doing what Kristin is doing. BBQ at our place open to all the out of town guests. I think it's going to be word of mouth though.

Thank you all! I'll check pingg.com & www.evite.com. All my guest are internet users and if the don't RSVP I was planning to call them anyway...:-)

Kristin Good idea. I'll include the rehearsal info as well.

Rehearsal dinners are far less formal (usually) than the wedding....so emailing invitations is fine.

How far in advance do you normally send out rehearsal invitations?
