Rehearsal dinner invitations wording

paula, on April 8, 2010 at 10:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I am trying to find some information on the way the rehearsal dinner invitation should be worded. I remember seeing an example but I can not remember where I saw it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Our rehearsal will be at the church and dinner will follow. Should I mention that on the invite? or should I send the invite only for the dinner?

Thanks in advance!!!

    I think i have recieve dthis one time out of the weddings i have been in.. I am not planning on doing it. I figure everyone will know they are to be available for the evening and will have all info regarding it as soon as I do. so..?

    p.s. I dont think it is bad to do them, but I also dont feel them necessary. Smiley smile

    I would suggest putting the rehearsal time on the invite, with the dinner to follow information. Clear communication makes for happy events!

    I did a simple one:

    Please join us for a rehearsal dinner honoring

    {couple's name}

    time and date of dinner, and include info on the rehearsal.

    Nika, you are right! i don't want them to show up at the dinner and miss the rehearsal...;-)

    Goskell, I like your simple idea too. I'll think we fiance will prefer something like that.

    MrsJoseph, I don't know if you HAVE to send the separate but we just finalized the rehearsal dinner details and we sent the invites long ago... For the out of town guests I'll include their rehearsal's invite in the welcome bag that I'll leave at their hotels.

    I am hoping that my daughters FMIL actually plans the dinner. Oy! This has been a lesson in patience as both side are from different backgrounds. They are not used to formal events and we are actually afraid that she may not have actually made reservations (at a very busy, less than stellar, eatery.) Yes, yes, I am a food snob LOL! Doesn't have to be spendy, but does need to be good...and the place she chose is not good. The view is great...the food, atmosphere and health reports, not so much. But, we will keep our mouths shut, eat a bit and be happy that we are paying for the reception. ;-)
