Rehearsal Dinner Info in Wedding Invitation...how to?

Anna, on August 22, 2009 at 2:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

I'm almost done with my invitations, so they're nearly ready to send out. For the guests we're inviting from out of town, we want to include rehearsal dinner information within the same envelope. How should I do that? Should it match the invitations? What other information should I include. I'm confused. Thanks!

The only time I've ever been invited to a rehearsal dinner (which my FMIL conveniently forgot to tell my FH and I about) they mailed out short letters with the details. You could print the info on cardstock that coordinates and include it. I think we'll have inserts for those invited to the dinner, and inserts for those invited to game night after the formal activities.

Traditionally they should be sent separately as they are 2 different events so if you are going to do it that way you really can do it anyway you want.

It'd save postage though if you did them with the invites - wish I had. If you're paying for the RD, then do what you think is best.

I did my own invitations and they are the seal n send ones. and what I was planning on doing was since we are having a little gathering the next day to open presents I was going to make one invitation for both. incase you dont know about the seal n send cards they have 3 spots on the card one for the invitation one for the reception card and the RSVP card. So in the invitations piece I would write the rehearsal dinner info, for the reception card piece I was going to write the lunch and on the RSVP card I was going to add both events.

Usually it's the Groom's parents that provide the Rehearsal dinner, so usually it's the MOG that sends out, or calls people to invite them...

But if you do decide to atach them into your invitations, I would strongly suggest using the same theme as your invitations... STRONGLY suggest.

If everyone on your invite list is invited to rehersal dinner, then go ahead, and when I saw everyone, I mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON, it's rude to put an event on any sort of invite and then send it to people who are not invited. If there are people who are on the invite list, but not rehersal I would consider writing up a note and mailing to those invited, or if it's a small list, just call and let them now.

The separate insert is a great idea.

Ok...I think i'm going to do a separate insert, on the same paper as the invitations. For the people who are not invited, they simply won't get the insert. Thanks for the advice!
