Rehearsal Dinner in NYC

Sarah, on August 14, 2014 at 3:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

We are having a wedding in NYC with mostly out of town guests and would like to include everyone who is making the trip in the rehearsal dinner. Does anyone have any suggestions of restaurants in Manhattan where we could have a private party that aren't too expensive? For around 50-70 people. Thanks!

What's your definition of "that aren't too expensive"?

Try Bistro Ten18. It's on 110th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. They are our MOH and BM's close friend's restaurant. We love it there. Not sure what their minimum or maximum is for private parties, but give them a call. Here's their website www.bistroten18.com

There's also Sofrito on East 57th Street. Been there a few times and their food is SLAMMING. Here's their website www.sofritony.com

Also, are you staying in a hotel in NYC? Check with the concierge and see if they can recommend some places. Or if your hotel has a meeting room or ballroom, you may be able to work out a nice package with them for passed apps and beverages or prix fixe dinner. Also, if your hotel has a restaurant on site, ask about their prix fixe menu options.

Are you willing to look into the outer boroughs? I know it might seem like a trek, but I'm hosting RD in Brooklyn at a local Italian place.

Il Cortile is my favorite Italian restaurant in the city. Not sure how their group rates are but definitely worth considering if you like Italian!

I have no idea about pricing, but check out Bar Americain. Their private dining packages look amazing and the location would be super easy for everyone to get to. Also, out of towners may get a kick out of eating at Bobby Flay's place Smiley smile

There is a place in Williamsburg called Patrizia's (family style italian) reasonably priced and YUMMY! Nay suggested Sofrito which has delicious food and lots of space, I don't know the details on private rental - or are you cool with a long table? It turns into a club atmosphere later in the evening.

You can google or yelp a type of food and area that you want and go that way.

Thanks everyone! $50 or under is the price we are trying to stay around. I realize outer boroughs probably have more options in that range but it is just easier to have it in Manhattan to get everyone there. I appreciate the suggestions and will check them out.
