Rehearsal dinner ideas??

Briana, on March 6, 2017 at 12:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I am trying to plan a rehearsal dinner under $200. Unfortunately our apartment is too small for 20 people! We live in Westfield and or rehearsal is at stanley park but in October it will be too cold to have a picnic or anything! Any other ideas would be great!!

Any good pizza parlors nearby? Pizza, salad, and beer is always a winner for me when it comes to rehearsal dinners.

Look into renting a private room at a Local pub or something

For my first wedding we went to a local chicken restaurant. It was a step above fast food, but still inexpensive.

Can you add to the budget at all? It's going to be really hard to feed people at $10 a pop and still leave a tip.

Pizza! That's what we're doing. ETA: I don't think it'll be less than $200 though. And I have about 25.

That's a tight budget. I couldn't even order pizza for yay unless it's the $5.99 deal at Domino's.

    Can you increase at all?

That is a tight budget. Especially if you have to pay for renting a room somewhere. You are looking at 10pp before a tip or possible room rental.

Forget your apartment...the last thing you need to worry about, the evening before your wedding, is hosting 20 people for dinner.

You take everyone to a pizza place, Olive Garden, Chili's, Boston Market, Denny's, Japanese Hibachi, a Chinese restaurant...get it? If the restaurant serves wine and beer, even better, If not, thank your lucky stars that the dinner will end early and you'll be able to get home and get some sleep.

Rehearsal Dinners are not mini-receptions. If your husband's parents want to host something upscale (mine did), then fine. However, if this is just another bill you have to absorb, then you should feel no shame for doing it as inexpensively as possible. You owe them a meal after a rehearsal (which you honestly don't even need) -- whether it's amazing cuisine or pizza. Nobody will judge you. Nobody.

Are you getting a hotel block? The hotel we are staying at has a meeting room that we are using for the RD. We can bring in food, beer and wine. I think we are having Olive Garden catering.
