Registering at multiple places?

futuremrswmh, on August 22, 2017 at 1:52 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I am currently registered at Bed Bath and Beyond as well as Amazon and Target. I am going through and updating my registries since my shower is a month from today! I have a few duplicates between the three separate stores. Should I only register for certain things from each and delete any similar items? Or just leave it that way (I have quite a few guests that live in BFE and don't really order online, so they will probably go to Target or BBB but IDK which) and return anything we get duplicates of? Sorry if this is a dumb question!

I would delete the duplicate items as it just means more work for you later on if you get duplicates / need to make returns. You were so sweet to provide registry locations that everyone can get to, so I think that is enough. They will be able to find something they want to gift you or get a GC.

From my wedding planner book they say to only register at two places because it makes it easier for guest attending your wedding .

Yes, keep out the duplicates! People like to go off registry, too - so that could get messy if they find a better price somewhere else!

I took out duplicates, and decided on the one I liked the most. I didn't want to end up with three waffle irons and have to return two.

Thanks ladies! I originally only registered at two places but realized that a big chunk of my family lives nowhere near a BBB and wont order online, but they do have a local target!

I'm keeping my duplicates... Mostly because I know half of my family will never even LOOK at the BBB registry and stick to Amazon, as well as stuff like- "I really like this shower curtain set here at BBB, but it's $75.00 and I know most of the people I've invited would never pay that for it, but I registered for it anyways because you never know. However, there's an equally cute one on Amazon that I will be happy with if I get it instead, or will gladly by with my completion discount when everything is said and done." That thought process wound me up with a few things that were the same but different. If I end up with some of the same stuff, i'll return it.
