Reflecting back on your wedding...

What's something you wish you had or did at your wedding that you didn't? Did you regret anything? Did you miss anything? What would you have done differently?

There were things that went "wrong" at my wedding (accidentally left out part of our centerpieces, a couple pictures I forgot to get, guests changing their RSVP the day before, etc), but nothing that impacted my view of the day. I don't regret anything. There's nothing I wish I had that day, except for more time to celebrate with everyone.

There are things I'm super glad we had, such as a photo booth, day of coordinator, and videographer (we were on the fence on all three of these), but I don't think there was anything that I regretted not booking.

I would have not listened to my vendors who told me, “we can discuss further details 30 days out.” Which was every single one of my vendors. It caused such added stress in the last month for no reason. All of those conversations could have been done earlier instead of scrambling to talk days before the wedding. I really would suggest taking the lead on those conversations and having them earlier than 30 days.
I’ve also learned that vendors rush you to book with them, but have a poor response time after money has been given. I would really suggest researching your vendors.

My husband and I have said for months (so before the wedding day even) that if we had to go back and do it all over, we'd have planned it in my home state instead of his (and where we currently live). The two biggest reasons for this were 1) 95% of my friends and family werent able to afford the time off and travel to come and his was all prepared for it and would have (they've told us this). and 2) my home state is Nebraska, everything is significantly cheaper than here in new jersey and we would have not only saved money, but the money we did pay would have went further (more florals for the cost we paid, etc).

In terms of the actual wedding we did have, we were supposed to do a group toast prior to the ceremony with our wedding party, not just for the video but as a fun way for us to thank them, and it ended up not happening (my sister didn't know it was supposed to happen and started pumping and by the time she was done guests were arriving), so I wish we could have had that but it didn't ruin the day. I wish they would have properly announced the dessert buffet, only a handful of people knew about it. And I wish we would have had our venue box up food for us to take with us at the end of the night. My husband and I really didn't get to eat all day, and everyone raved about the food, but we didn't get to eat any of it. Again none of these ruined our day, just things I wish we would have made known and didn't

The only thing I didn’t do was take phone photos with my siblings. I got a few of them and we have some professionally done but I think for us the time just got the best of us. It literally goes by so fast, but overall I wouldn’t say there was anything we technically ‘didn’t do’

I honestly don’t regret much! The only thing is I wish I took more photos with certain friends and family. I also wish I used 360 photobooth more. I do wish I communicated some logistics of seating for the ceremony as there weren’t enough seats in the front row and some immediate family members were in the back so there was some confusion during the ceremony. But overall we are pleased with how the day went! It goes by so fast! All our guests said they enjoyed themselves and couldn’t tell if anything went wrong

We had an outdoor wedding and rented 2 luxury bathroom stalls. One guests commented that there should have been 3 stalls instead of 2 because there were long lines. This embarrassed me, so my regret is not getting enough bathrooms!
