Redo Save the Dates?

Brittany, on February 14, 2019 at 7:40 AM Posted in Planning 0 19

Hi everyone! I would love to get your opinion. So I got save the dates created many months ago from Vistaprint. I had a coupon code so they only came out to be $45.00. I realized when they came in that I forgot to put our website address on them. So, I created labels and stuck them on the back of each save the date. I already stuffed them all and handwrote each envelope (about 85). We were planning on sending them out this weekend, however, now I’m second guessing. I’m worried about people not flipping the save the date over and seeing the website. I know it may seem simple, but knowing my family I feel like they would completely miss it. People are asking our parents if we’re sending out save the dates and when (I guess really excited?). I’m debating about getting them reprinted or leaving it as is. We will have quite a bunch coming from out of town so the website is really important because it has our hotel block info. I don’t mind spending the extra to get more printed. What would you do? Thank you!

Here is a picture of our Save the Dates!

I wouldn't bother. If they do have questions about the website or hotel blocks, they will ask.

My website was on the front of mine and most people didn’t even notice it or bother with it. So I wouldn’t worry.

I think most people turn cards over naturally, so you should be okay.

Here's a thought. Maybe put the STD in upside down, so they see the back first when they open the envelope, and therefore see the website first and will know it's there for later reference. Then, they can turn it over and see the STD Smiley smile easy fix

Thanks so much everyone! I think I was really just overthinking it. You're right, if they have questions about the website or hotel blocks they can just ask!

Thank you Brittany! This is a really good idea, that I wish I had thought of before! LOL. The only thing is I already stuffed all of the envelopes and wrote their addresses with calligraphy, and that took a pretty long time. They also already have the stamps on the envelopes. I think I would either just get them reprinted (and have the addresses just printed on the envelopes this time) or leave them as is.

Oh darn, I missed that part Smiley winking sorry!

In that case, I wouldn't worry about it. Don't spend more money. Spread by word of mouth that your website is on the back, and you get a second chance with the website when invites go out. Honestly, not many people have paid much attention to my website so far, and it's been up pretty much since the start of our engagement a year ago. Now that we're 2 months out, they're starting to check it. So sending with your invites as well is a good bet.

That's a good idea, thank you! I'll tell my FH to tell his family to make sure to check out the back. I think word of mouth will be good enough. Especially maybe for those that I'm concerned about lol. I'll be sure to include the website on the invitation!

I think it’s okay for the Save The Dates especially if the invitation also has the wedding website (ours did because we only did online RSVP) but I agree if someone misses it they’ll ask if they really need the information.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think this may be one of those situations we tend to let our brains overthink. Personally, I always flip over cards when received, so I don't think anyone will miss it. Also, with social media being a huge platform nowadays, you could always share your website on there as an extra way of getting it out.

I used that exact same design from vistaprint for my save the dates and we have our website on the back as well. I haven't mailed mine out yet, but those who I showed my save the dates to immediately flipped it to see what was on the back. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Our website is on the back of our save the dates. The front has all the important stuff (date, city, our names) and the back says Formal invitation to follow and that if they would like more information, to visit our website www.______.com.
If anyone misses it and asks you about accommodation information, I would just direct them to the back of their save the date! Honestly, with the addition of the label, I think most people will physically feel that there is something back there they should check out.

They will totally turn it over, don't worry! Especially if they are looking for a website (like I do).

I think everyone will naturally turn it over and those who don't will ask for more info. Love the pic btw! So cute

A lot of people will turn them over! We put a photo on the back of ours and several people have commented how they love the photo on the back. I really wasn't sure anyone would notice them but they totally do.

I sent mine out without our wedding website on them. You'll be just fine with it on the back!
