Paid over 100 to have it done. Should I retake in my dress and open it and have it redone or get a simple white dress to take pictures in.

And some I'm sure will be great. Even some the groomsmen took aren't bad and give an idea of how the others will look

You haven't even received the profesional photos yet. Be patient and wait for those, then make a decision. Also , curious , if you don't like the hat, why did he wear it?

What about saving and hiring a different pro photographer for taking anniversary photos? You could find the perfect outfit, get pro make-up and hair and get the quality keepsake photos you want

I would definitely go with the idea of saving up for a professional and doing a 1 year shoot!

Why does he even have that hat on in the first place....?

ETA: save up and hire a real non-friendor photographer and get some killer Anniversary shots.

Since you have some in your gown that you like, I'd just wear a more simple dress, or rent a dress from Rent The Runway & do anniversary pics! Smiley smile I'm sorry you didn't get what you wanted the first time around; we can't all afford top photographers & you did the best you could with your budget!

@Courtney, Why didn't you ask him to take the hat off for the pics? Or have your photographer ask?

My BIL was wearing a hat (and a strapping camera around his neck while my sister had her humongous purse slung over her shoulder) at the beginning of our formal family portraits and my photographer chided it off him by saying, "hey dude, you can keep it on if you want but it's a formal photo the bride and groom are paying me a lot of money to take these but, hey, it's really up to you." Sheepishly they both removed their accouterments.

Ok, I get it. Can't beat a dead horse. So, 2 options, set up a redo of your wedding pics--you'll know it's a redo and will have to decide if that will bother you--or have your 1 year anniversary (or maybe Christmas) portraits done of you as a couple or with family. It may be nice to mark holidays or milestones with extra special photos.

Ok, just read your comment you didn't notice the hat.

    Ok.

Do 1 year special anniversary pics, think it will make you happier and then you can shelve the regrets.

I'd wait to see what the photographer got, frame a few that you like and save up to do an anniversary photo shoot. I don't think it will be the same feeling as if it was your wedding day if you redo everything.

I think I'd do anniversary pictures and take the dress back out for them. You could even start a cute tradition of taking pics on your wedding clothes once a yearSmiley smile
