Redo pictures

Courtney, on October 17, 2016 at 10:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

Should I have pictures redone. We had a rushed 30minutes to take pictures and we didn't take a single one I had planed. Plus my husband wore a hat in some of the pics. I already got my dress stored. Paid over 100 to have it done. Should I retake in my dress and open it and have it redone or get a simple white dress to take pictures in.

    I'm confused.

Your date says you got married over a year ago. If you didn't like your pictures, wouldn't you have known by now? It doesn't take a year for a photographer to get back pictures...if so then I have other opinions on that.

Because of your date, I would assume they aren't your wedding pictures. So what pictures are you talking about?

If you're really unhappy with your wedding photos I'd take your dress back out and do it over again. An hour session should be sufficient! I know it stinks that you wasted $100 to preserve your dress, but to me better pictures would be worth it.

Who was your photographer? I was under the impression that they typically requested/expected from you a list of photos you want taken at the wedding and they schedule themselves for a wedding for more than just thirty minutes.

I'd be more bothered by lack of control of light than the hat. If you are going to go through that much of a task to reenact them, use a skilled photographer and maybe do it as a one year anniversary.

It was a family friend. And we had some last minute venue changes. I had to replant my ceremony and reception 2 weeks before the wedding. Original plan was to have the ceremony at a park and take pics right after. We ended up having to have the ceremony at the half we had the reception so we had to leave for pics. And we limited time for the reception it made it so we had no time to take pics. We didn't even go where we wanted to take save drive time.

Also, I don't think you need to unstore your wedding dress. You could always do something a bit more casual; a white day dress, for example, and have your husband in something nice that doesn't include that (or any) hat. Like Jay Farrell suggested, you could do it for your one-year anniversary!

    Honestly?

I would save up for a year or two, then hire a quality photographer to take nice pictures of you as a couple. Maybe not in your wedding dress, but you could absolutely wear a white dress.

It's clear to me that your photographer hasn't had a lot of experience taking professional-grade pictures.

We havnt gottan our pics back yet. The pics I've posted are ones the groomsmen took while we where having them done. They are all the same as the photographer was staking. He was standing behind her taking them with his phone. So the lighting and editing will be better on the ones from her.

This is exactly why you shouldn't use friendors.

Honestly, with the way that the light/shadows are, these don't really look professional to me. If you're really unhappy, hire a pro to take some.

ETA just saw your comment...so wait until you get the ones back from your photographer and see how they turned out....?

I am kind of torn. We also felt rush to take pictures too because we were running late and cancelled outdoor shoot at different location because it was so hot that day.

I have not gotten our pro pictures yet so we were discussing what would we do if we don't like our pictures.

DH made a good point that no matter how bad the pictures were, they were still taken on our wedding day and there are memories attached to it.

At the end of the day, he wore that hat and you probably have a good story to tell your grandkids.

If you're that unhappy with them and it means that much to you I would say retake them. I'm a huge photography buff so it's extremely important to me to have those memories. Especially if you didn't have a videographer.

Indeed friendors are not a good idea. Now you see why. 4 months and still not done with the photos on top of it all? I think you owe it to yourselves to do a personal couples shoot for your anniversary, with a much better photographer.
