Redheaded Bridesmaids!

LutaWolf, on April 14, 2010 at 5:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

Ha ha so my original colors were coral and seafoam then my gorgouse sister *you can see all bridesmaid on profile one has really dark hair but recently stripped her hair and went back to her natural red" any way my sister called and said while she will wear a patatoe sack if I want, she looks like crap in coral... So I decided to go with Red and Yellow but now I'm going away from the Hawaiian theme, I'm looking at other colors and just started wondering if anyone else has redheaded bridesmaids that they are trying to fit into a color skem or some other hard to fit bridesmaid.

Wouldn't the seafoam have looked ok? (not sure what color that is exactly but it sounds like a blue of some sort) I am a red head and blues and purples look great on me.

Yeah the seafoam would have looked good it's a green/blue but I couldn't find another color other than coral I like but honestly I have 11 months I'll probably change everything 2 more times lol but I was wondering if anyone else was having color fun because of having to match it to bridesmaids!

I'm with Sass. I'm a redhead and my hair looks awesome with blue, purple, green, aqua, yellow, black, navy, brown and gold. I agree with your sister, though, coral might be a difficult color for a redhead. Perhaps you could put her in the aqua and the rest of the BMs in coral? I promise you her hair would look fantastic with aqua.

I love the idea of a red headed bridesmaid! I wonder what color my friend, Sasha's hair will be. She will be a bridesmaid, and I have not seen her in 3 years. I was really against using warm colors at first. Then I read the Martha Stewart (I know that sounds horrible) magazine issuing pink. I loved all of the ballet slipper pink dresses she featured. My color scheme (Aaron finally agreed to bail on the adding blue idea) is light pink, copper, brown, and khaki. I think chocolate brown would look really great with red hair. You could even accesorize with your sea foam idea, and I am sure she would look great. Or you could dress her in a sack, and use Little Big Planet as a theme. Sorry, I just bought the game last week, and Aaron has been playing it constantly. He actually wants sack people as out cake topper.

I have two redheads so yeah I'm bailing on the coral.. serously thinking about going back to the seafoam.. some of you might know that I was doing a beach wedding and it was Red,Yellow because it was Hawaiian but I'm having to bail on the Hawaiian idea, so I'm thinking about going back to seafoam and doing like a water theme. And I really really can't stand Brown Erica...sorry but I might be willing to do brown for that sack idea specially if I get to bedazzle it!

Bedazzled sacks would be great! I'll bet you would stay under budget, too. What other colors would you have with the seafoam?

One of my bridesmaids is redheaded, so is Fh, she is his sister =) Our colors are red and white and she looked really really great with the read dress on!

I think doing seafoam with white accents would seem very much like a water theme. And that would look great on your redhead.

LOL @ potato sack... But hey, if Miss Idaho can pull it off, Im sure your BM's could

    Here is a longer version

Ok now back to the serious question. IMHO redheads can totally rock coral. But you could use seafoam as you main color and use coral as an accent color.

As a red head I wear coral and seafoam and they look fine. All I really stay away from is scarlet red and pumpkin orange. Though, I really think the burlap potato look is great.

Um, pretty sure Ariel wore barbie pink in The Little Mermaid! and it worked for her! I think it will depend on what shade of red she is compared to the coral. If she is more of a strawberry blonde or lighter redhead, I think it could wash her out a bit. But if she's closer to auburn or even a more vibrant red, coral should be fine.

Yeah is she like an auburn, strawberry blond, fire engine red? I think it depends on the shade.

Redhead speaking here- I wear some reds, magneta, and fuschia (not all at the same time). See what their coloring is and just have them try on the different colors. I can pull off almost any color except orange, peach, or yellows. Greens and Blues are generally great colors. Purples too. Good luck!
