Recessional Help!

Chelsea, on June 14, 2020 at 8:43 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I need a little help with the recessional order for my ceremony, I have the entrance already completed . So in my wedding I have 2 matrons, 2 best man, 2 flower girls, and my nephew will do the sign ( who will be assisted down the aisle by his 2 big sisters) Both of my matrons are adults, matron 1 is married to the best man, matron 2 is married to the officiant. The 2nd best man is a 9 year old, so I’m really tryna figure out how this exit will go.

If the best men are walking in with the matrons in pairs in the processional, it would be the same for the recessional. Typically, once the families have exited, the officiant or minister will dismiss the guests to exit and head to the reception. I hope this helps.

    1. Bride & Groom (or Groom & Groom or Bride & Bride)
    2. Flower Girl and Ring Bearer
    3. Maid or Matron of Honor and Best Man
    4. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen (in the reverse order of how they entered)
    5. Parents of the Bride
    6. Parents of the Groom
    7. Grandparents of the Bride
    8. Grandparents of the Groom

How was the entrance going to go? Just do the same thing as you were planning for processional?

Hi Chelsea! I'd have your married matron & best man pair up and walk out together, and your other matron of honor can walk with the young best man!

The recessional is really quick and your guests will be standing, so it's not a big focus. Having one of your matrons walk with the 9 year old also makes sure they have someone to prompt them when it's time to recess!
