Reception/bar Napkins

MrsSansom, on April 4, 2018 at 5:22 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20

I was interested in purchasing some napkins for the reception to have out during the buffet and for the bar area. We are going to have around 150 guests, not all drink but probably around half would so I figured 300 napkins. Does this seem reasonable? Help please!

I would estimate a few napkins per guest. I would order 4 or 5 per guest if you’re also using them at the bar. Are you getting cocktail and dinner napkins?

I would double that (600) and I think you'd be safe. It also depends on what you are serving. Are these only for bar napkins or all napkins

These napkins would be for the buffet and bar. I think I will get 600 to be safe. Thank you!

Depends, will there be backup napkins available? Personalized napkins are pricey so I'm only ordering 100 (~150 guests and open bar). After that they'll just use the white ones provided by the venue. I want to have a few to take pictures of but it's not going to be a significant budget item and I don't think anyone will care at all whether they get a special napkin or not.

The website I found you can get 600 napkins for $100. I don't think that is too bad, but I may just be clueless.

You can order cocktail napkins which are smaller and cheaper for the bar and dinner napkins separate

Yes, I have been looking at cocktail napkins. I guess I would need larger napkins for dinner and cocktail napkins for the bar. Thank you for pointing this out to me, I didn’t know there would be a difference.

I would definitely do the different sizes! Smiley smile But that pricing sounds great for all those napkins!

I bought dinner /cocktail napkins from Party City I purchased personalized ones (100) for the cake table. I have invited about 250 guests and have over 500 napkins. I’d definitely order or buy more

Well even if people don't drink alcohol they're still going to have a beverage like water or soda, so I would do at least 600, assuming every person will have at least 4 drinks, alcoholic or non. Maybe even more, if they're going to be near the buffet too, because people will probably use them to wipe their hands at some point. Or just do 300 and only have them out on the bar during cocktail hour.

I ordered 300 for approximately 140 guests (personalized cocktail napkins, just at the bar). The venue will use their own when they run out. I got mine from Anne's Bridal Bargains.

Totally Promotional does personalized wedding napkins and has a full guide to how many napkins to order for each size and style. Based on the calculations, you may want more than 300 for a 150 guest wedding.

This is what we are doing also. Once everyone gets their first drink and got a cute napkin they wont care (or notice) if the next drink napkin is the plain one offered by the venue.
