Reception walkout? So nervous!

Jessie, on April 2, 2021 at 8:54 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
I'm an awkward person, I'm not really a dancer, and I'm not good at being the center of attention. My husband is a little better than me.
We had our ceremony already, so now we're doing our reception May 28th. I'm honestly happy I won't be walking down the aisle. But I don't know how to make our entrance. I don't know what song to do.
Anyone else nervous about this? Any tips?

What about if you all snuck in the back? The DJ announces your parties and says, “and now, for the very first time Mrs & Mr_______!” But you don’t walk in. Then maybe the MOH or BM can laugh and point out that the two of you are already at the cake table swiping icing, or getting a drink at the bar?

If you don't like being the center of attention, tell the dj not to announce you at the beginning of the reception. It's a very recent trend anyway and you don't have to do it if it makes you uncomfortable. Everyone will know who you are so don't make it more stressful by adding the announcements.

We're skipping them for the same reason but also because the officiant will announce us 15 minutes prior at the end of the ceremony so there is no reason to do it again, much less at all.

Technically you don’t even have to do an entrance.
