Please help! I'm having trouble finding a venue for our wedding reception in the New York area for under $5000 for 50 guests. We want a venue that we can dance, has open bar and serves appetizers only. No sit down dinners, we want to dance! Can anyone recommended a venue like this? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jennifer - If you change your avatar you will get more responses. Also, more information is needed. How many people do you plan to host?

I recommend either Dumbo Loft or Dumbo spot in downtown Brooklyn. It's right near the water (though no water views). These are loft style spaces on the ground floors and you can bring in your own stuff (i.e. - DJ, Caterer and Alcohol). You will have to rent some table and chairs if want they have will not be enough. I rented some high end furniture from Geo Events for a event I hosted in the Dumbo Spot.

ETA: For 50 people - definitely go with the Dumbo Spot

Dumbo loft is terrific; I did the first "four weddings" in the USA there.

Try the Garden Vista Ballroom in Passaic; ask for Jim and tell him I sent you.

Alvin Ailey has a beautiful ceiling to glass studio that is gorgeous once it is transformed it will be perfect for 50 people

Anything is possible. One of my vendors I use has a great majestic place that is palatial it might be big for 50 but you can get it for below 5k. Email me *****@**********.***

I could be wrong, but those dance studio floors are $$$ and I doubt anyone will let you use them for a wedding where they will be ruined by street shoes. Dumbo spot is great.

Astoria World Manor in Queens is where I'm having my wedding.. open bar is included they have a bunch of different packages.
