Reception timeline

Melanie, on February 1, 2020 at 1:59 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hello! My wedding in in two weeks, and I don’t have my reception timeline! This is one of the most stressful things because I've never been to a wedding and I don't know what to do to make the guests have a good time. Please help me! And if one of you are wedding planner please HELP ME and tell me what’s the best timeline? Based on your experience, how would it be better?

Additional information: •My wedding ceremony will start at 5:00 to 5:30 pm •Reception at 6:00 pm to 12:00 am •Photos will be taken before the ceremony.•Dinner is plated
PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP MORE THAN EVER
Postscript: I already asked the venue but the manager only says “you can do it the way you want” but that does not help me because I need examples. I’m so stressed

Our timeline isn't finalized yet, but here's a basic outline of what we are doing:

    2:30pm First Look (B&G w/Photographer)

2:45--4pm majority of photos with wedding party

    4pm ceremony

4:30--5:30pm cocktail hour (finish up any pics w/family)

5:30pm Introductions (wedding party and B&G) into the reception, then first dance

    5:45pm Dinner

    7pm cake cutting

    7:30pm Shoe game

    8pm bouquet and garter toss

We'll have dancing throughout the evening, as long as people want to. We'll end at about 10pm. Hope this helps a bit.

Ceremony, cocktails, intro/grand entrance and either first dance or cake cutting. During dinner or right after do the garter, bouquet toss and I don’t know what the shoe thing is but do it before dancing. Your DJ can guide you.
