I haven't been to many weddings, but the ones I've been to have all had dancing be a major part of their reception. The thing is, my fiance and I don't really like dance parties. At dances, I'll normally go with the flow and dance with my friends, but I don't particularly enjoy it. My fiance flat out hates dancing. We'll both enjoy our first dance and my father/daughter dance, of course, but I just don't know if the dinner all-night dance party reception is for us. I don't want the reception to just be a short dinner party though, so I'm kind of stuck. Do you know of any styles of reception other than dinner party or dance party? Has anyone had a really great reception with little to no dancing? I would appreciate any suggestions. Smiley smile

We are doing a games night themed wedding. We will be having lots of dancing as well, but people who aren't into dancing will have lots of games/activities to do instead. Out favors are personalized playing cards, we will have a games table (thinking of having a game as a "door prize" which will be won by the best performance during our "kissing game" (guests must complete a task/song/poem in order to make the bride/groom kiss)

Me & my FH don't dance either, so we're planning a White (the new last name) semi-formal dinner party to keep it short then my Wed Pnr & BM (which is FH sis) is planning an after party so those that want to dance and mingle it will take place in her rental unit complete w/live artist etc... (She knows people in the music industry)
