Reception Programs

Kathryn, on January 15, 2021 at 7:10 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

Our wedding is going to be pretty laid back. Ceremony about 15 minutes with just in the immediate family. Then the reception will open up for everyone that we invited.

We are having no dances, games, etc. This is just really a big late lunch celebration for people to come out and celebrate with us.

I originally was going to have a program for the reception. Either I give one to each person or just have one staged at each table.

Now.. I am just thinking that it would be pretty pointless and a waste of time.

If I put in the official invite, "Come celebrate our wedding with a late lunch" or something like that. I don't think the program is necessary.

What do you think?

Programs are never a necessity, but in this situation, I’m not sure what you would even put on them. I agree that I would skip the programs.

Tbh i’ve never been to or seen a wedding that had programs for the reception; only the ceremony. Unless there are a ton of events that needed to be scheduled/coordinated, I don’t see a purpose for reception programs

Programs are never required. Programs are typically to announce bridal party names, the order of the ceremony, etc. I am not sure why you would need programs or a reception...

    I would skip them.

I don’t think a program would be necessary. If you want to outline events (like the reception) I would put it on your website. We aren’t having programs and our ceremony is about the same length as yours. They just go in the trash and seem like an unnecessary expense.

Programs are definitely not necessary and I personally think they are a waste of money.

I'd totally skip them! But if you have a bunch of different events going on throughout your reception you can do just one or two big signs! That's what me and my FH are doing for our wedding. Just gonna have two big acrylic signs we're DIYing for the order of events.

    Here's an example!

Oh! I like this idea. I could make this also my welcome sign.

    Thank you!
