Hey, everyone.

I'm working on our timeline. When we talked with our reception hall, they said that everyone ends up wanting an extra hour (rental time is 5 hours, and you can purchase an additional hour). Our reception is planned to start at 5:00 (with cocktail "hour," which will go until about 5:45), and dinner is 6:00. So, regular time would be 5-10, and if we added the extra hour, it would be 5-11. I'm still wondering if 1-11:00 is so late that no one will really be there that late, and 2-if people will stay for 6 hours. We have a DJ and a photobooth (the photobooth will run from 5:15-10:15).

So I'm just wondering, how long was your reception (or how long do you have planned for your reception), and how late did (or do you have planned) it go?

Our ceremony is going to be at 3 and the reception is going until about 9/9:30. We're getting married in a park, so we have to be out of the shelter house by 10pm. However, we're getting married on a Sunday, so I think that will work out just fine.

We are doing ceremony at 5:15. Cocktail hour at 6-7. Reception 7-11. So 5 hours total. But we are having our wedding at a camp & most people will stay on site in cabins so the after party will continue by the fire.

Our ceremony is at 3:30pm. Our wedding and reception are at a friend's property along a river, so we are just letting everything flow naturally. Guest will be welcomed to get drinks and apps immediately after the ceremony before all the "fun" stuff starts. (Like the German tradition of sawing a log in half.)

We are getting the dinner, toast, cake and first dance done back-to-back. The vendor is picking up the tent, tables, chairs, etc. at 8:30pm. If people want to stay and party there is a picnic shelter with a fireplace and they can go all night. But you can bet the bride and groom will be long gone after a long day.

Soundwave Entertainment provides DJ and LED lighting design for about 300 weddings yearly in Orlando.

When looking at your times, they seem off as you are not giving time for transitions. Here is a solid timeline for what i call ceremony at venue, cocktails 1 hour and 4 hour reception. This is ideal for about 100 guests...Will give you about 2.25 hours of dancing...

    5:10 Ceremony Prelude Music

    5:30 Ceremony at venue

    6:00 cocktails

    6:45 b&g preview ballroom

    6:55 Ballroom open to guests

7:10 Introductions, first dance and toasts

    7:30 Meal

    8:30 Cake cutting, parents dances

    8:45 - 9:45 Dancing

9:45 Garter and then continue dancing

    10:55 last dance

    11:00 end
