Reception Head Table Backdrop

Heather, on January 4, 2019 at 11:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
How long did you make your headtable backdrop? Does it need to be the length of the head table?
I originally didn't think I wanted to bother with making a backdrop for behind the head table... But now I'm thinking about doing something with PVC pipes and sheer draping with greenery and maybe lights, something relatively simple but elegant. My question for those of you who are or did a backdrop for the head table: just how long should I make it? There are going to be 12 - 14 of us sitting at a banquet style headtable, which will be pretty long? Would it look silly to have a backdrop like this only behind me and my FH and the few right next to us? I think it would look great to have it long enough to fill the entire background of the length of the table, but I feel like it would end up being more trouble than it's worth at that point...
Ideas? Sorry I'm rambling, just thinking out loud! Hopefully someone has some input

I personally don’t like head tables. I prefer doing sweetheart table just you two. This would make it easier for your plan. I think it would be odd to just have the backdrop for you two alone.
    Just my opinion.

That is true, it would definitely make the backdrop easier. I'm not necessarily completely opposed to the idea of a sweetheart table, but the head table is more appealing to me for many different reasons. Just not sure if the backdrop is worth it or not. I've seen pictures of it both ways!

I think the backdrop would look very nice and if you do it, I’d do it behind the whole head table. We’re doing a head table (14 people) with no back drop and I think it will still look good!

I think a sweetheart would work better. Backdrop-wise it would be easier to do. Even better, then you don't have to separate your wedding party from their dates.

We were going to do a head table and changed to a sweetheart because one of my biggest fears is that my FH and i won’t have enough to time to sit and soak up the moment.
So by having a sweetheart table it gives us some time just us two and easier to decorate! The bridal party will be in circular tables closest to us so it’s like a “head table area” with sweetheart HIGHLY RECOMMEND
