Reception Food

Hello, long post looking for opinions!

we are having a Sunday brunch wedding (10/4/20). Initially we planned for a breakfast buffet (scrambled eggs, 2 meat choices, tortillas, banana foster pancakes, and a potatoe option. Plus slider stations (BLT, hamburgers and salmon) chips, queso and salsa plus fruit and veggies. Problem is the slider stations and the chip/dip station is as much as a full lunch buffet.
Now I’m torn because we don’t care for Italian food, our family is a bunch of amazing cooks so Mexican is out because it won’t be as good. Our options are BBQ or NY deli style bar with carved lunch meats, cheeses, rolls and condiments. It includes a side. For brunch I think this is an acceptable option but idk how I feel about serving sandwiches at our wedding
Both buffets each come with 2 bakery items which we don’t need because we will have cake we are considering asking them to swap them out for the dip and chip station.
Any feedback on our options would be great

Personally I would pick either the breakfast buffet or the lunch options. It does seem like a lot of food!! If you have your heart set on both breakfast and lunch items I would cut back both. I would just do scrambled eggs, meat choices, and tortillas no pancakes and potatoes, and cut back to just two slider options. Or just do pancakes, eggs, sliders, chips and fruit. The fruit fits both with breakfast and lunch food so it works. Cutting the whole chip & dip part would work well too.

Hope you figure it out soon, keep us posted!!

I like the deli style food option for a brunch wedding. I think sandwiches are fine unless it's a super formal wedding!

Yes, it’s a ton of food. Problem is they already come bundles with all those options for the price. 😕

Okay thanks for the feedback. I was trying to think how I would feel going to a wedding with sandwiches. I felt like it was acceptable but I think feel weird serving them. We are very much foodies and I feel like our friends and family have high expectations for the dood we’ll have because of this. I keep trying to tell myself I’m the one with the expectations 😂

I think as long as they are good sandwiches, you'll be fine!

I think it depends on how formal your wedding is as to whether sandwiches would make sense.

I love all the breakfast food!!! 🍳 🥓 🥞 Keep that. To replace the slider bar and the chip/dip station, can you do a fried chicken and waffles station? Or a crepe station (with savory and sweet options)?
