Reception Extras

Lisa, on November 29, 2021 at 4:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 15
I think I've got my ceremony extras figured out, and now am trying to make a list of all of the reception extras. Here is what I've got so far:

-guest book/related materials (sign, book, pens/markers, etc)

-centerpieces

-smores bar/materials/sign

-curtain backdrop

-extra lighter/matches for candles

-lights/draping for around dance floor

-extra extension cords

-tool kit

-first aid kit

-favors

-cake stand

-cake cutting/serving set

-escort cards

-table numbers

-signature drink sign

Is there anything else that I might need or might find useful to have?

Oh goodness it seems like you are all over it! The only thing I can't see on the list is a wishing well/card box.

Nearly all of those are optional and many people skip most of them.

The only ones that are required are escort cards, table numbers and use a knife from the venue’s kitchen to cut the cake. Skip the rest and no one will miss them, especially if you are on a budget.

Thank you for your reply! I realize most of these are optional (which is why I worded them as "extras"), and I already have most of the items on the list. These are items I am choosing to include in my reception, and they all fit into my budget. Just because something is optional doesn't mean it should automatically be skipped. I was curious what items others are including, and whether I overlooked anything that I should consider.

Small sewing kit, safety pins, tide to go (or some similar travel size spot remover)

Maybe a mini emergency wedding kit? They sell these at David's Bridal. Inside I think there's like safety pins, hair pins, hair ties, mini sewing kit, etc. Maybe even some medicine on hand in case like tylenol or even some allergy pills. Oh, and maybe flats if you are planning to change out of your wedding shoes (if you are wearing heels)? Another that I can think of is a portable phone charger. I had to charge my phone at least once during my wedding day lol.

But other than that you pretty much have it all!

Definitely planning on a first aid kit and an emergency kit with safety pins and such. The shoes to change into and the portable charger are great ideas! Thank you!!

If you’re having a photo booth, you may want your own backdrop and props.

We are so undecided on the photo booth, lol! We have a curtain backdrop with a sign that hangs from it, though we don't have an official photo booth. Kind of going back and forth on whether to do a photo booth, so I'll add the props to the list just in case we decide to do one. Thank you for your feedback!!

That sounds so fun!! Definitely sounds like something guests enjoy. Looking through the photos afterwards would be entertaining, lol. The trick will be finding one within our price range, but I'm planning on looking around just to get some info. Thank you for sharing your experience!
