When I read 80’s my mind immediately went to my aunt’s wedding dress and the BM dresses she made her sisters wear! I wish I had pictures! The poofy sleeves!
I think it’s sweet to use aspects of your mom’s wedding dress and modify it for you. I have wished throughout this process that we had some family heirlooms, and it makes me want to keep everything for our kids.

You only get to wear a wedding dress once as expensive as they are so most women prefer to wear them all day and night, not just 1 hour tops.


Your idea sounds fun though.

I’m kind of doing two dresses. I wanted two different looks so I had a detachable ballgown created to go over my crepe sheath gown. I’m wearing the tulle ballgown for the ceremony and through dinner/father daughter dance and then I will take it off before our first dance. I love the idea of two looks!
