How do you feel about having a reception dress? If you’re pro reception dress are you also keeping it a secret from your future partners?
Do please tell

They’re not for me. I didn’t pay thousands of dollars to wear my dress for 30 minutes.

I personally am not doing a different reception dress. I originally thought I wanted one but then I decided I don’t want to spend sooo much money on my wedding dress to keep it on for an hour

I'm not doing a reception dress for the same reason as the previous comments. I want to wear my wedding dress for as long as possible, especially given the cost.

I think it’s a great idea to be honest cause you can change into a shorter lighter dress but I didn’t do that cause I was lazy aha and I also didn’t wanna spend more on one. But if it’s in your budget I think it’s a nice idea

I got a reception dress. I would like to have my wedding dress on for as long as possible, but its heavy and its supposed to be quite warm here. My reception dress is also a secret. FH knows I bought it but hasn't seen it.

Same. Plus hopefully you only get married once so rock the dress as long as you can.

Instead of the typical 2 phase wedding, we are going to have a 3 phase event (ceremony, reception, bar hopping/after party). I plan to wear my wedding dress for both the ceremony & reception, but I’m getting a 2nd dress for bar hopping afterward. I would love to continue wearing my wedding dress, but I know it would be a huge pain in the you-know-what carrying around a train all night or having people stepping on my dress! I’m not keeping the fact I’m getting the 2nd dress a secret, but I’m also not showing FH what it looks like either.

I have a reception dress but didn't keep it secret from my fiance. I actually wanted to get his reaction especially because the actual wedding dress is a secret from him.

I kind of have a reception dress. I wanted a ballgown and a fitted dress and couldn’t decide on juts one lol so I actually found a fitted dress I loved and added a detachable ballgown. It’s really 2 dresses in 1, and they will both be surprises!

Not doing a reception dress as I have too many issues with too many dresses lol but...

(As Chrysta stated) I have a more casual dress for bar hopping afterwards, so obviously I can be more comfortable and so I don’t have to deal with people stepping on my dress, etc.

I decided against a reception dress. I loved my wedding dress too much to take it off after the ceremony. Plus, for what I paid for my gown, I wanted to wear it as long as possible!

I have a reception dress. The funny thing is that they're both ballgowns. The reception dress is much lighter, though, has straps, and I had an underlayer of tulle removed. Now that my wedding is postponed, I wore my ceremony dress for the minimony, so I get to wear it twice. The two dresses cost what my mom budgeted for one dress, so we said, "why not?!" Only my mom and DH know I have two dresses.

I have a reception dress. I would have preferred to have just one, especially because I love my dress, but my FH and I are swing dancers and a long dress won't work for that. I have a shorter rockabilly style dress for the reception.

I am not doing a reception dress as our entire event is less than 4 hours. But I will be following our reception into a wedding swimsuit Smiley smile
