Reception Dress

I'm changing into a second dress, no picture, it's from jjshouse, style
105912, it's the same dress my bridesmaids will wear, they'll be in lilac, and I will wear lavender, if you look, I would love your opinion if the dress, good luck!

Thank you Kayla, I like jjshouse, most of their dresses come in about 40 colors, and are made to order, I've purchased 4 evening dresses from them in the past, and loved them all!

Hi Kayla, I don't have my dress yet but I'm looking for a dress with an overskirt that I could just take off for the reception. It's like 2 dresses in 1!

I didn't but i had considered it! it isn't a bad idea since a second dress can be far more comfortable and easy to move around in

I got this dress from Amazon, and it’s really comfortable and cute! I was very surprised at the quality. I love it! I got a really beautiful beaded shoulder piece to go with it as well, and of course a sparkly belt. I plan on changing when my main dress gets too itchy and uncomfortable closer to the middle or end of the reception.

View Quoted Comment Thank you! Yes I kept trying my dress on at the tailor and the beaded top part was super irritating. I just know a couple hours in that baby is going to be making my skin so red and uncomfortable. I know it’s kind of crazy that we spend so much on wedding dresses to wear them for one day. I wish dressmakers could make them lined and a little more comfortable. Then I wouldn’t probably have opted for a reception dress if my main dress was comfy, but such is life! It’s complicated lol

This is the second dress I changed into right before our first dance! It is from Lulu's. They have several affordable options!

I will be wearing my bustled gown for the majority of the reception, but changing it up a bit by removing the modesty panel and adding beaded straps.


For the end of the night though, I'll be changing into a "getaway" dress for the grand exit. This is the dress, and I'll be adding more accessories:

Cute! I really liked their dress options but they don't offer many of them over size 10... not cool for us busty girls.

I've only seen reception dresses on the super extravagant wedding shows and websites. Many women choose to get a pretty dress they can comfortably move in and wear it all day/night. When trying them on, everyone says to move around in it to see if you're able to dance, etc.
