Reception dinner

Courteney, on November 17, 2020 at 10:19 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
My wedding is November 12,2021. What are some dinner ideas. We are thinking of doing a buffet style but we will need a back up just in case Covid is still here...... so any ideas will help. Thank you!

I personally would do sometging that would spread as little contact as posdible. Possibly chipotle catering or individually packed dinners.

Talk to your caterer and see what their options are

I agree with Michele on speaking with your caterer.

I would also suggest having 2 options for meats and a vegetarian option as well. If you have a wedding website or sending RSVP cards, it's helpful to have a question about whether people have allergies or dietary restrictions, and you can also have them select which meal option they prefer!

We went to a wedding that didn't ask their guests those questions, and they had bbq for the reception. Many people there were vegetarian so they could only eat the mac & cheese and roll.

Have you picked a caterer? They should have a menu for you to choose from

We did a buffet style, and to avoid contact the caterers served us. So we touched our plates, they touched the ladles to serve, and that was it! It was very careful, and organized! We had BBQ and my wedding was in November as well!

You could always have people serve the food if you want to do buffet

You can still have a buffet in the times of covid! We had station buffets at ours and had the waiters serve us, that way they were the only ones touching the ladles/serving utensils. We also had plexiglass up separating people from the food.

Hi date twin!!!! We actually just recently went for a tasting of our venue’s fall menu and they are still allowing buffet style, there are just servers handling each dish rather than letting people take their own portions due to covid. Our venue is also letting people switch to plated at no extra cost if they feel uncomfortable with covid. The last option we had was to do stations and again, those are handled by servers rather than everyone touching everything themselves. Talk to your venue or caterer to see how they’re handling things! They should be able to give you an answer on how they’re handling everything.

As for food, we are having one beef, one chicken and one fish option. Our venue is going to do vegan plates for the few friends we have that are vegan as well as some of the vegetarians at no cost because it’s literally only maybe 5 people. They allow that so we don’t have to take one main entree away from everyone else.
