Reception Dinner

Miranda, on January 12, 2020 at 3:52 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12

So for our family only wedding of 25ish people we are doing a pasta dinner. With that being said I know we are going to do a regular meat spaghetti for sure, but I want to do an additional type of pasta just in case someone doesn't want that option but I can't decide what to do as a second option. I know we are going to do a roll and a garden salad to go with the meal but the second type of pasta i just can't seem to think of anything else to do. Does anyone have any ideas. The dinner is going to be a self serve dinner.

Are there any vegetarians in your party?

Does everyone like pasta and have no gluten issues? Maybe a side of meatballs or baked chicken thighs for those who don’t want pasta or want more protein/less carbs? They can eat the protein & salad.

I agree PP with alfredo might be a good option. Or maybe a garlic sauce with chicken.

Chicken Alfredo or Penne Vodka would be good.

How about Fettuccine Alfredo? With an option to add chicken? That way if someone wants a vegetarian option, they have one, but it also appeals to chicken eaters.

Thank you all for your ideas. I'm definitely thinking about an alfredo with chicken now just to also give the chicken as an option instead of just pasta

I think that’s a great idea so guests can kinda make their own pasta. If it’s a buffet why not trays of: pasta noodles, a marina sauce, an Alfredo sauce, grilled chicken (big cubes), and a salad. Kids might like pasta no sauce. Some adults might create a chicken salad, or a pasta with or without chicken. 👍

I would do a white sauce or a lighter sauce like pesto. Alfredo is probably your best bet, most people like marinara or Alfredo (If not both!) so I would assume that would please everyone. It might be nice to offer meatballs and chicken on the side so if anyone doesn’t like pasta they can have a more filling salad with protein. I wouldn’t do a third sauce though, I think with one red and one white you’re covered

What about a white sauce option with mushrooms and peas. Or even an olive oil and garlic style with grape tomatoes, basil and cheese.
