Reception Catering

What are you all serving for dinner/food at your reception? Buffet or plated? Are you having staff stay and serve it, if you are using an outside caterer? What is the average price for this type of catering in your area?

We are doing buffet (lots of picky eaters in our crowd haha) and we are getting it for about $45 per person including appetizers and coffee, tea, water, pop and a late night snack! Our reception venue does the catering itself so I"m hoping it will be fresh and hot! The tasting was delicious! Smiley smile

We are doing buffet. Roast beef, chicken cordon blue, roasted carrots, Mac and cheese, chicken fingers for the kids, and roasted potatoes. It also comes with salad and rolls too. We will also have trays of hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour. I think all together it's like $30 per person give or take. Not as high priced as some but not cheap either.

Buffet for sure. There's a lot of different diets and food restrictions in my group so serve yourself buffet for sure. We're thinking fajitas and tacos

Our venue is all inclusive pretty much except for photography and dj like a pp mentioned. So we are having passed apps as well as a variety of stations at cocktail hour. Then dinner is a 3 course plated meal with 3 different options for entree that we have not selected yet. We are having a dessert table in addition to our wedding cake(which is also included) as well as a sundae bar and open bar. I hope I get to enjoy all of it as much as my guests do!

Yes! Make sure you get to enjoy YOUR food at your wedding! At my first wedding, we had a buffet but we had dinner served to our sweetheart table. We got up to mingle a couple of times and every time we returned our plates were gone. We were starving by the end of the night.

I wish my FH liked Mexican food. I see lots of taco and fajita bars. I'd love that. My sister is a vegan so I think I'm going to speak to the caterer and have a separate meal prepared for her.

Hi Jordan! Have you decided what you will do for your catering at the wedding?
