So my Love and I really enjoy karoake and love watching other people do karoake (especially when they are drunk) but we don't know if it would be appropriate for a wedding. What do you all think? I need some input on this since we aren't sure and haven't attended many weddings to know.

I dont see any issue with it. But, for the sake of your non-singing guests, make sure there's a place for guests to go if they want to opt out of the karaoke and just chat.

I’ve been to plenty of weddings where they had karaoke, the DJ was the one who did it all.
    I highly recommend it.

If you love it, do it! I LOVE karaoke as well and we will definitely be having karaoke at our wedding next year!! Our DJ will be providing it, and he will be playing music in between so it won't be like one big karaoke session. lol But definitely do it!! Smiley laugh

I've been to many Chinese restaurants where there was a wedding in the banquet room with karaoke. Outside of that setting, I've never seen it done but that doesn't mean you can't. Just be aware not everyone will participate.

I've been to a wedding with karaoke. It was a brunch wedding, and it was nice, but the crowd wasn't SUPER into it, so it didn't work as well as it could have.

This is a know your crowd thing.

That said, the nephew of the groom got up and sang his ABCs for us, and it was the *painfully adorable* and pretty much made the whole day. (He was roughly 3, you couldn't even see him from my table, just heard this little tiny voice, and he got the biggest applause of the whole event.)

I’ve only seen this at an Asian wedding but guests loved it. It’s a know-your-crowd thing. Our friends would never do it. 😆
